Possible Causes

Float valve stuck in down position, Insufficient liquid preventing steam build-up, Faulty lid position sensor, Steam release valve left in vent position

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Ensure the cooker is cool and depressurized before touching the lid components.

  • Check steam release: Turn the steam release knob to the sealed position as indicated in the ProfiCook manual.
  • Verify liquid level: Open the lid and confirm there is enough water or liquid in the pot. Add more if below the minimum mark.
  • Free the float valve: From inside the lid, press the float valve up and down. Clean around it to remove dried food. From the top, remove the float cap if present, clean, and reinstall.
  • Test again: Run a short pressure program with water only. Watch to see if the float valve rises. If it does not, there may be a leak at the sealing ring or float valve cap.
  • Sensor issues: If the float rises and seals but the display still shows OPEN, the lid/float sensor or control PCB may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
