Loud hissing and rattling noises from the steam release valve during pressure cooking.

Safety: Keep face and hands away from the steam vent. Do not cover the valve.

• Use proper fill level: Do not exceed the maximum fill line, especially with beans, rice, or foamy foods.
• Use oil or anti-foam: Add a small amount of oil to reduce foaming when cooking starchy foods.
• Clean valve and anti-block shield: After cooling, remove and clean the steam release valve and anti-block shield thoroughly.
• Check valve position: Ensure the valve is fully in the sealed position and not between vent and seal.
• Replace valve: If rattling and excessive venting continue, replace the steam release valve assembly.
