Possible Causes
Defective pressure sensor, Loose or corroded pressure sensor connector, Damaged wiring between pressure sensor and main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and ensure it is completely depressurized and cool.
- Access pressure sensor: On many Redmond pressure multicookers, the pressure sensor is located under the top cover or near the lid hinge. Remove the outer lid cover as per service instructions.
- Check connector: Locate the small multi-wire connector from the pressure sensor to the control board. Reseat it and inspect for corrosion or bent pins.
- Inspect wiring: Look for pinched or broken wires, especially where the harness passes through hinges or tight spaces. Repair or replace damaged sections.
- Replace sensor: If wiring is intact and E6 persists, replace the pressure sensor with a compatible Redmond part. Ensure the sealing grommet or O-ring around the sensor is properly seated to prevent steam leaks.
If replacing the sensor does not clear E6, the main control board may be defective and should be serviced by a professional.
