Steam constantly escapes from the steam release valve even when set to sealing; pressure does not build.

Safety first: Depressurize and unplug before servicing the valve.

• Remove valve: Take off the steam release valve cap according to the manual.
• Clean thoroughly: Wash the valve parts and the valve seat on the lid to remove starch and grease. Use a small brush to clear any holes.
• Inspect seal and spring: Check the silicone or rubber seal for cracks or deformation. Ensure the spring (if used) is present and not corroded.
• Replace if needed: Install a new Redmond-compatible steam release valve or seal if the old one is damaged.
