Possible Causes
Low or fluctuating mains voltage, Loose mains cord connection, Damaged power inlet socket, Faulty power supply section on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before handling the cord or opening the unit.
Steps:
- Check outlet: Test the cooker on a different wall socket, preferably without extension leads or multi‑plugs. Avoid sharing the circuit with high‑load appliances.
- Inspect power cord: Examine the Russell Hobbs detachable power cord (if fitted) for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace if damaged.
- Check cord fit: Ensure the cord fits snugly into the cooker’s power inlet. A loose IEC or proprietary connector can cause intermittent power loss.
- Visual PCB check: If comfortable, remove the bottom cover and inspect the power inlet solder joints and fuse on the control PCB. Resolder cracked joints or replace a blown fuse with the same rating.
Note: Persistent E7 despite a good power supply usually indicates a failing control PCB that should be replaced.
