Steps:

• Check lid orientation: Align the lid with the open/close marks on the housing and rotate fully into the locked position. Ensure the handle clicks into place.
• Inspect locking pin: Look for the metal or plastic locking pin that engages when the lid is closed. Clean any food residue that may prevent full movement.
• Test microswitch: With the unit unplugged, close the lid slowly and listen/feel for a click from the lid switch. If there is no click or it feels mushy, the lid lock switch assembly may be faulty.
• Check hinge and handle: Ensure the hinge screws are tight and the handle is not cracked. Tighten loose screws carefully.
• Temporary workaround: Some models allow non‑pressure programs (e.g. sauté) even if the lid switch is faulty. Use only safe open‑lid programs until the switch is replaced.
