• Check hinge alignment: Verify that the lid is centered and the hinge screws are tight. Gently adjust if the lid is rubbing on one side.
• Examine locking ring: Look for cracks or warping in the plastic or metal locking ring. If damaged, replace the lid assembly or locking ring.
