Possible Causes
NTC sensor not in contact with heating plate, Faulty NTC sensor, Thick burnt layer on heating plate, Control PCB temperature control fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug and let the cooker cool completely before cleaning or inspection.
Steps:
- Clean heating plate: Remove the inner pot and gently clean the heating plate with a soft cloth. Remove any burnt food or sugar deposits that can cause hot spots.
- Check sensor seating: Locate the central temperature sensor. Ensure it is firmly clipped against the plate and not bent away.
- Use correct pot: Only use the original Russell Hobbs inner pot. Third‑party or warped pots can cause uneven heating.
- Test with water: Run a boiling test with only water. If the unit still overheats or cycles erratically, the sensor or control PCB may be faulty.
Repair: Replace the NTC temperature sensor if it is loose or out of spec. If that does not help, the control PCB may require replacement.
