Possible Causes

Loose screw or bracket inside base, Debris contacting internal cooling fan, Worn fan motor, Vibrating heating element mount

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug and allow the cooker to cool before opening the base.

Steps:

  • Shake test: Gently shake the unplugged cooker. If you hear loose parts, something may have come free inside.
  • Open base: Remove the bottom cover and inspect for loose screws, brackets, or foreign objects. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Check fan (if fitted): Some Russell Hobbs multicookers have a small internal fan. Spin it by hand to ensure it moves freely and is not hitting wires.
  • Secure wiring: Use cable ties or clips to keep wires away from moving parts and hot surfaces.

Note: A soft relay click is normal; loud grinding or scraping is not and should be corrected.
