E4
Salton
Overpressure or Pressure Sensor Fault
E4 error appears as the cooker attempts to build pressure; unit may heat briefly then stop with beeping.

Possible Causes
Blocked pressure release valve on lid, Clogged float valve or anti-block shield, Faulty pressure sensor on lid or internal manifold, Damaged or swollen silicone sealing ring causing abnormal pressure readings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. Ensure all pressure is released before disassembling any lid components.
- Clean the pressure release valve: Remove the steam release knob/valve from the lid (consult Salton manual). Rinse under warm water and clear any food particles or starch buildup. Use a small brush or toothpick carefully.
- Inspect the float valve and anti-block shield: Remove the anti-block shield (metal cap) inside the lid if present. Clean thoroughly. Ensure the float valve pin moves freely up and down and is not stuck with dried food.
- Check the silicone sealing ring: Remove the inner silicone ring from the lid. Inspect for cracks, deformation, or swelling. Clean with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Replace if it no longer sits evenly in its groove.
- Reassemble and test: Refit all lid components securely. Add 2–3 cups of water to the pot and run a short pressure cycle. Observe if E4 reappears.
If the error persists after cleaning and replacing the sealing ring, the internal pressure sensor or control PCB may be faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
