Possible Causes

Unplugged or loose pressure sensor connector in lid harness, Broken wire in lid-to-body flex cable, Failed pressure sensor element, Damaged main PCB pressure sensing circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the multicooker before opening any covers. Do not operate with the lid disassembled.

  • Inspect lid connection: On models with a removable lid harness, check the multi-pin connector where the lid wiring plugs into the body. Ensure it is fully seated and free of corrosion.
  • Check flex cable: If your Salton model uses a flexible ribbon or cable between lid and body, inspect for kinks, cuts, or broken conductors. Replace if visibly damaged.
  • Access the pressure sensor: Remove the inner lid panel (screws on the underside of the lid) to locate the small pressure sensor module, usually near the steam path. Confirm its connector is firmly attached.
  • Re-seat connectors: Unplug and replug the sensor connector to improve contact. Do not pull on the wires; grip the plastic housing.

If E5 remains after verifying wiring, the pressure sensor or main PCB is likely defective. Replacement of these components is best handled by a qualified technician due to calibration and sealing requirements.
