Possible Causes
Damaged or incorrectly installed silicone sealing ring, Debris on lid or pot rim preventing proper seal, Worn or cracked float valve silicone cap, Steam release valve not fully in sealing position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. Ensure pressure is fully released before opening.
- Inspect sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Check for cuts, hardening, or deformation. Clean with warm soapy water and dry. Replace if it does not sit snugly in the lid groove.
- Clean lid and pot rim: Wipe the metal rim of the inner pot and the mating surface on the lid with a damp cloth to remove food residue or starch that can break the seal.
- Check float valve cap: Inspect the small silicone cap on the float valve pin. If it is cracked, hardened, or missing, replace it.
- Verify steam release position: Ensure the steam release knob/lever is set to the sealing position for pressure cooking. A partially open valve will prevent pressure build and trigger errors.
- Test with water: Add 2–3 cups of water and run a pressure program. Listen for continuous hissing around the lid, which indicates a leak that must be corrected.
If E6 persists with a new sealing ring and no audible leaks, the pressure sensor calibration or control board may be faulty and require professional service.
