Possible Causes
Program set to non-pressure mode (e.g., slow cook or sauté), Pressure sensor not detecting rise due to leaking lid, Steam release valve left in venting position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure lid and valves are correctly positioned before attempting pressure cooking.
- Verify program selection: Check the user manual to confirm that the selected program is a pressure-cooking mode. Some Salton models display P0 for non-pressure modes.
- Set steam release to seal: Turn the steam release knob/lever to the sealing position. If left in venting, pressure will not build.
- Check sealing ring and lid fit: Ensure the silicone sealing ring is properly installed and the lid is fully locked.
- Test with water: Add 2–3 cups of water and run a pressure program. If P0 remains and no pressure builds, inspect for leaks or a faulty pressure sensor.
If the unit never transitions from P0 to a pressure level despite proper sealing, the pressure sensor or control logic may require service.
