Possible Causes
Program configured for low pressure (normal behavior), Minor leak at sealing ring or float valve, Partially blocked pressure sensor port
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always ensure proper sealing before pressure cooking.
- Confirm program behavior: Consult the Salton manual to see if P1 indicates a low-pressure setting. If so, this may be normal.
- Check for small leaks: During operation, listen for faint hissing around the lid. If present, reseat the sealing ring and ensure the lid is fully locked.
- Clean sensor port: Some models have a small port leading to the pressure sensor. Carefully clean this port with a thin, non-metallic tool and warm water to remove starch buildup.
If P1 is shown as an error and the cooker never reaches expected pressure, the pressure sensor or sealing components may need replacement.
