Safety: Never force the lid open if there may still be pressure inside. Confirm that all pressure is released.

• Ensure full depressurization: Move the steam release valve to venting and wait until no steam escapes. Gently tap the float valve to ensure it is fully down.
• Gentle rocking: Once pressure is confirmed released, gently rock the lid handle back and forth while applying light upward pressure to free a sticky latch.
• Clean latch area: After opening, inspect the latch hook and lock slot. Clean out any dried food or residue with warm water and a brush.
• Lubricate lightly: Apply a tiny amount of food-safe silicone lubricant to the latch contact points if they are dry and squeaky.

If the lid remains stuck despite no pressure and cleaning, internal lid lock parts may be bent or broken and should be serviced or replaced.
