Safety: Unplug and cool the unit before physical inspection.
- Check pot contact: Ensure the Salton inner pot sits flat on the heating plate. Replace the pot if the base is warped.
- Clean sensor area: Remove the pot and gently clean the central sensor area on the heating plate with a soft cloth. Remove any burnt residue.
- Test with water: Add a measured amount of water and run a boil or sauté program. Use a kitchen thermometer to compare actual temperature to expected. Large deviations suggest sensor or control issues.
- Inspect sensor wiring: From the base, verify that the NTC sensor wires are intact and firmly connected to the PCB.
If temperature remains inaccurate after ensuring good contact and clean surfaces, replacing the NTC sensor or main PCB may be necessary.
