Safety: Only attempt to move or remove the valve when the cooker is cool and depressurized.

• Remove and clean valve: Take off the steam release knob and soak it in warm soapy water. Clean the valve stem and surrounding lid area.
• Descale if needed: For mineral deposits, soak parts in a vinegar solution, then rinse thoroughly.
• Inspect for warping: If the plastic knob is deformed or cracked, replace it with a genuine Salton part.
• Reinstall correctly: Ensure the valve is seated properly and rotates smoothly between positions.

Do not force a stuck valve; if it cannot be freed by cleaning, replace the valve assembly to maintain safe operation.
