Possible Causes
No backup capacitor or battery on PCB, Failing backup capacitor, Firmware bug in timekeeping routine, Unstable mains power
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before opening the housing.
- Check mains stability: Avoid plugging the cooker into outlets that are frequently switched off or into power strips with master switches.
- Inspect PCB backup components: On some models, a small supercapacitor or battery maintains the clock. Replace with the same type if visibly swollen or if it measures low capacity.
- Firmware limitation: Some Sencor models do not retain time when unplugged; this is normal behavior. Consult the user manual.
- Replace PCB: If time resets even while continuously plugged in, replace the control PCB.
