Possible Causes

Shorted lid NTC thermistor, Moisture inside lid sensor connector, Damaged lid sensor cable with wires shorted together, Faulty control PCB sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and let the cooker cool completely before inspection.

  • Dry the lid area: Remove the inner lid, steam valve, and gasket. Wipe away any condensation or spilled food around the lid sensor area and hinge. Allow the cooker to air dry for several hours.
  • Inspect wiring for shorts: Follow the lid sensor harness from the hinge into the body. Look for melted insulation, crushed sections, or exposed copper where the two wires may touch.
  • Check connectors: Access the top cover or control panel area and unplug the lid sensor connector from the PCB. Inspect for moisture, corrosion, or bent pins. Clean with contact cleaner and dry thoroughly.
  • Test resistance: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance across the two sensor wires. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor that must be replaced.
  • Replace faulty parts: Install a new lid temperature sensor harness if the NTC is shorted or the cable is damaged. If the sensor tests normal but E2 remains, the main control PCB may have a failed sensor circuit.
