Possible Causes

Insufficient water in inner pot, Inner pot not seated correctly on heating plate, Burnt food layer insulating sensor, Faulty thermal fuse or thermostat on heating plate

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow pressure to release fully before opening the lid. Keep hands away from steam vents.

  • Check water level: Open the lid only after pressure is released. Verify that the minimum water level mark is met. Add water according to the recipe and user manual.
  • Clean inner pot and plate: Remove any burnt food stuck to the bottom of the inner pot and the heating plate. Use non‑abrasive cleaners to avoid scratching.
  • Verify pot seating: Ensure the Sencor inner pot is the correct one for the model and sits flat on the heating plate without rocking.
  • Inspect thermal protection (advanced): With the unit unplugged and base removed, locate the thermal fuse or bimetal thermostat attached to the heating plate. Check for discoloration or signs of overheating. A blown thermal fuse will read open on a multimeter and must be replaced.
  • Reset or replace: Some models use a resettable thermostat; press the small button if present. If not resettable, replace the thermal fuse/thermostat assembly with the correct Sencor part.
