Possible Causes

Faulty lid lock microswitch, Misaligned lid locking mechanism, Broken lid lock actuator, Disconnected lid lock wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Always unplug the cooker before working near the lid lock mechanism.

  • Check lid closure: Ensure the lid is fully closed and rotated/latched according to the Sencor manual. Press down gently on the lid while starting a program to see if the error clears.
  • Inspect lid lock: Remove the inner lid and gasket. Look into the locking slot or hook area for broken plastic pieces or obstructions.
  • Access lid lock assembly: Remove the top cover or front panel (depending on model) to expose the lid lock. Look for a small microswitch actuated by the lock mechanism.
  • Test microswitch: With a multimeter, check continuity across the switch terminals while manually engaging the lock. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
  • Check wiring: Follow the lid lock harness to the control PCB. Ensure the connector is secure and wires are not pinched in the hinge or housing.
  • Replace assembly: If the lock is physically damaged or the switch has failed, install a new lid lock assembly specific to your Sencor model.
