Possible Causes

Blocked steam release valve, Stuck float valve, Faulty pressure relief valve, Defective pressure sensor calibration on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not attempt to open the lid while the unit is under pressure. Allow full natural release if unsure.

  • Clean steam valve: Remove the steam release valve and anti‑block shield. Soak in warm soapy water and clear any food particles from the small holes.
  • Check float valve: Ensure the float valve moves freely up and down. Clean around the valve seat and replace the small silicone gasket if worn or deformed.
  • Inspect safety valve: Examine the secondary safety valve on the lid for signs of clogging or corrosion. Replace if it does not move freely or appears damaged.
  • Test with water only: After cleaning, run a short pressure program with only water to verify normal pressure build and release.
  • Replace components: If E8 persists, replace the steam release valve assembly and float valve kit. If the mechanical parts are new and the error remains, the pressure sensor/control PCB may require replacement.
