Possible Causes
Worn or incorrectly installed lid gasket, Food debris on sealing surfaces, Loose lid locking ring, Cracked lid body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not place your face or hands over the lid while steam is escaping. Turn off and allow pressure to drop naturally.
- Clean sealing surfaces: After cooling, remove the inner pot and gasket. Wipe the lid groove and cooker rim to remove food residue.
- Inspect gasket condition: Stretch the gasket gently and look for small tears, flattening, or stiffness. Replace if any damage is found.
- Reinstall gasket correctly: Fit the gasket evenly into the lid groove, ensuring it is not twisted. Press it fully into place all around.
- Check lid ring and screws: On some Sencor models, the metal lid ring is held by screws. Tighten any loose screws evenly to maintain uniform pressure.
- Replace parts: If the lid is cracked or deformed, replace the complete lid assembly. Always use genuine Sencor gasket sets.
