Possible Causes
Food residue around float valve, Bent float pin, Deformed float valve silicone seal, Residual pressure not fully released
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Never force the lid open. Ensure all pressure is released before attempting any repair.
- Verify pressure release: Gently move the steam release valve to the venting position and wait until no more steam escapes.
- Tap float valve: Using a wooden spoon, gently tap around the float valve to help it drop if it is stuck by residue.
- After opening: Once safely open, disassemble the float valve (pin and silicone cap). Clean all parts thoroughly.
- Inspect for damage: Replace the float valve kit if the pin is bent or the silicone seal is swollen or cracked.
- Prevent recurrence: Rinse the lid and float valve after each use, especially after cooking starchy foods.
