Possible Causes
Blocked anti‑block shield under valve, Starch buildup in steam channel, Overfilled inner pot, Using inappropriate food types without liquid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the cooker and allow pressure to release fully before removing any parts.
- Check fill level: Ensure the inner pot is not filled above the MAX line, especially with foamy foods like beans or grains.
- Remove and clean valve: Take off the steam release valve and anti‑block shield. Soak in warm soapy water and scrub gently with a small brush to clear all holes.
- Clean lid channels: Use a thin brush or pipe cleaner to clear the steam channel in the lid.
- Adjust recipes: Add sufficient water and avoid thick sauces until after pressure cooking. Use the Sencor manual’s guidelines for maximum quantities.
- Replace valve assembly: If the valve is damaged or corroded, install a new steam release valve assembly.
