Possible Causes
Worn or cracked touch membrane, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Moisture under keypad, Faulty keypad controller IC on panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before opening the control area.
- Clean surface: Wipe the keypad area with a slightly damp cloth and then dry. Sticky residue can affect capacitive keys.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Access the control panel and unplug/replug the keypad ribbon cable to the main board.
- Check for moisture: If there was a recent spill, allow the panel to dry thoroughly for 24 hours.
- Replace panel: If specific keys never work or require excessive pressure, replace the keypad/control panel assembly.
Warning: Do not puncture or peel the keypad membrane; this can permanently damage it.
