Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad/display and main PCB, Damaged touch control panel, Oxidized connector contacts, Faulty main PCB communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before opening the housing.
- Access control area: Remove the front or top trim (depending on model) to access the display/keypad board and its ribbon cable.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Gently unplug and reinsert the flat cable between the display and main board. Ensure it is fully inserted and locked.
- Clean contacts: If contacts appear dull or dirty, lightly clean with isopropyl alcohol and a lint‑free swab. Allow to dry completely.
- Inspect for cracks: Check the display PCB for cracks near mounting screws. If cracked, replace the panel.
- Test: Reassemble and power on. If E10 persists, the main control board may need replacement.
Warning: Avoid bending the ribbon cable sharply; this can break internal conductors.
