Possible Causes
Damaged silicone sealing ring on lid, Loose lid not fully locked, Worn float valve seal, Cracked lid body around pressure channel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and fully depressurize before opening the lid.
- Inspect sealing ring: Remove the large silicone ring from the lid. Check for cracks, hardening, deformation, or food deposits. Clean thoroughly or replace if worn.
- Check lid seating: Ensure the lid closes smoothly and locks firmly. Adjust or clean the locking lugs if they are obstructed by residue.
- Examine float valve seal: Remove the float valve and its small silicone gasket. Replace the gasket if it is flattened or cracked.
- Visual check for cracks: Inspect the lid around the pressure channels and valve seats for hairline cracks. Replace the lid assembly if any are found.
Warning: Never attempt to repair a cracked pressure lid with glue or sealant; always replace the lid.
