Possible Causes
Using high-heat mode without enough oil or food, Poor contact between pot and plate causing hot spots, Thermal fuse nearing end of life, NTC sensor misreading high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off, unplug, and allow the cooker to cool fully.
- Use sufficient oil/food: When using sauté or frying modes, always add the recommended amount of oil or ingredients to absorb heat.
- Check pot base: Ensure the inner pot base is clean and flat. Remove any burnt residue that could cause uneven heating.
- Clean heating plate: Wipe the plate with a damp cloth when cold. Do not use abrasive pads that can scratch the surface.
- Inspect thermal fuse and sensor: If E18 occurs repeatedly under normal use, test the thermal fuse and NTC as described in other entries and replace if out of spec.
Warning: Avoid operating the cooker empty on high‑heat modes; this can permanently damage the heater and safety components.
