Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the cooker is hot, keep hands away from the steam outlet. Allow full depressurization and cooling before disassembly.
- Clean steam release valve: Remove the steam release knob and clean all channels with warm soapy water. Ensure it rotates freely and is not clogged with starch or food.
- Check float valve: Remove and clean the float valve and its silicone seal. Make sure it moves up and down smoothly and is not stuck with dried residue.
- Inspect safety valve: From inside the lid, inspect the safety valve (often a metal plug with silicone). Replace if deformed, cracked, or heavily scaled.
- Descale: If you see heavy mineral buildup, soak removable parts in a descaling solution compatible with stainless steel, then rinse thoroughly.
Warning: Do not modify or block any pressure relief components. If E8 persists after cleaning, have the pressure system inspected by a professional.
