Possible Causes

Disconnected NTC sensor plug, Broken NTC sensor lead, Corroded connector on main PCB, Failed NTC thermistor under inner pot

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before inspection. Do not operate with covers removed.

Steps to diagnose:

  • Remove inner pot: Take out the stainless-steel inner pot and inspect the base plate. Ensure there is no liquid or burnt food on the central sensor area.
  • Dry the sensor area: If moisture is present around the central temperature sensor boss, dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth and allow 30 minutes of air drying.
  • Access the bottom panel (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the screws on the underside and carefully lift off the base cover. Locate the NTC sensor wires coming from the center of the heating plate to the main control board.
  • Check connections: Confirm the NTC plug is firmly seated on the PCB. Look for signs of corrosion or heat damage. Reseat the connector several times to clean contacts.
  • Test the NTC: Using a multimeter, measure resistance across the NTC leads. A typical Siemens NTC will read between 50–150 kΩ at room temperature (exact value depends on model). An infinite reading indicates an open sensor that must be replaced.
  • Replace if faulty: If the NTC is open or physically damaged, replace the temperature sensor harness with the correct Siemens part number for your model.

When to call a technician: If the NTC tests normal but E2 persists, the analog input circuit on the main PCB may be defective and requires professional service.
