Possible Causes
Damaged lid sealing ring, Debris on lid gasket or rim, Faulty float valve seal, Warped lid or inner lid plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and depressurize fully before removing the lid. Steam can cause severe burns.
Steps to resolve:
- Inspect the sealing ring: Remove the silicone gasket from the lid. Check for cracks, hardening, or deformation. Clean it with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. Replace if it does not sit evenly in the groove.
- Clean the lid rim and pot edge: Wipe the metal rim of the inner pot and the lid contact surface to remove oil, starch, or food particles that can prevent sealing.
- Check the float valve: Remove the float valve pin and silicone cap (if accessible). Clean all parts and ensure the valve moves freely up and down. Replace the silicone cap if it is worn or cracked.
- Verify correct assembly: Ensure the sealing ring is properly seated and not twisted. Confirm the steam release valve is in the correct position for pressure cooking.
- Test with water: Run a pressure program with only water to check if the unit now reaches and holds pressure without showing E9.
When to call a technician: If leaks persist despite new seals and proper assembly, the lid or inner lid plate may be warped and require professional evaluation.
