Possible Causes

Lid not fully closed, Deformed lid locking latch, Faulty lid-closed microswitch on lid hinge, Damaged lid switch wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before inspecting the lid mechanism. Never bypass safety switches.

  • Check lid closure: Open and close the lid firmly. Ensure the lid clicks into place and the handle is fully down. Remove any food residue or silicone ring misalignment that may prevent full closure.
  • Inspect the lid latch: Look at the plastic/metal latch on the lid and the catch on the body. If bent, cracked, or worn, the lid may not press the internal microswitch. Clean and gently realign if possible.
  • Check the silicone sealing ring: Remove the inner silicone ring, clean it, and reinstall evenly. A twisted ring can prevent the lid from closing enough to trigger the switch.
  • Test the lid switch (for skilled users): With the unit unplugged, remove the top cover (usually screws under the lid trim). Locate the small microswitch near the hinge or latch. Check that the actuator moves freely and clicks. Inspect the 2‑wire harness for damage or loose connectors and reseat them.
  • When to stop: If the switch is physically broken or the wiring is burnt or cut, do not attempt to bypass it. Replace the lid switch assembly or contact a qualified technician.
