Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between control panel and PCB, Damaged touch panel membrane, Oxidized connector contacts, Faulty microcontroller on display board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker before removing the front or top panel.

  • Access control panel: Remove screws securing the front or top fascia to expose the display and keypad board.
  • Check ribbon cable: Carefully disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable between the panel and main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not kinked.
  • Clean contacts: Use contact cleaner on the cable ends and connectors if they appear dull or oxidized. Allow to dry fully before reassembly.
  • Inspect for cracks: Examine the keypad PCB for cracks, especially near mounting points. A cracked board can break communication traces.
  • Panel replacement: If the display lights but E12 persists and all cables are good, the panel or main board microcontroller may be defective. Replace the affected board.
