Possible Causes
Inner pot not seated correctly, Deformed inner pot base, Faulty pot detection spring contact, Loose pot sensor wiring on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before touching internal parts.
- Check the inner pot: Remove the stainless or non‑stick inner pot and inspect the bottom. If it is warped, dented, or has burnt-on residue, it may not sit flat on the heating plate. Clean and reinstall, ensuring it rotates freely and sits level.
- Clean the heating plate: Wipe the central heating plate and the small raised pot sensor button or spring contact with a soft dry cloth. Remove any rice, beans, or debris that may block contact.
- Re-seat the pot: Place the pot back in, press it down gently, and slightly rotate it to ensure good contact with the center sensor.
- Inspect pot sensor (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover. Locate the pot detection switch or spring-loaded sensor under the center of the heating plate. Check for broken springs, bent contacts, or disconnected wires. Reseat connectors to the main PCB.
- Replace if damaged: If the sensor is broken or the spring has lost tension, the unit will continue to show E2. Replace the pot detection sensor assembly.
