Possible Causes

Main heating element shorted to chassis, Burned or loose heater terminals, Melted wiring at heater plate, Failed triac or relay on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Immediately unplug the cooker. If you smelled burning or saw smoke, do not attempt to power it back on until inspected. Allow it to cool fully.

Inspection steps:

  • Turn the unit upside down and remove the bottom cover to expose the heater plate and wiring.
  • Inspect the circular heating element under the inner pot for burn marks, cracks, or melted insulation around the terminals.
  • Check all spade connectors and screw terminals on the heater for tightness. Look for discoloration or charring indicating overheating.
  • Inspect the wiring harness from the heater to the main control board for melted insulation or signs of shorting to the metal chassis.
  • If you are qualified and have a multimeter, test the resistance of the heating element. A very low resistance (near 0 Ω) or continuity to chassis ground indicates a shorted element that must be replaced.
  • If the heater tests normal but E6 persists, the power control device (triac or relay) on the main PCB may be damaged and the board should be replaced.

Warning: Do not operate the cooker with exposed or damaged wiring. Replace any burned components before use.
