Mechanical Lid Jam After Pressure Cycle
Lid is stuck and will not open after cooking; float valve appears down but lid will not rotate.

Possible Causes
Residual pressure trapped due to blocked steam port, Lid lock mechanism jammed with food debris, Warped lid or misaligned locking lugs, Deformed silicone sealing ring gripping pot rim
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never force the lid open. Ensure all pressure is released before attempting to open.
Steps:
- Verify that the float valve is fully down and that no steam is escaping from the steam release valve.
- Gently move the steam release valve between positions to ensure the pressure channel is open. If steam escapes, wait until it stops completely.
- Once cool, try gently pressing down on the lid while turning it to the open position.
- If still stuck, unplug the unit and carefully inspect around the lid lock slot for visible debris. Use a thin plastic tool to dislodge any food particles.
- After opening, thoroughly clean the lid lock mechanism, sealing ring, and pot rim to prevent recurrence.
