Possible Causes
Worn or stretched silicone sealing ring, Food residue on lid or pot rim preventing seal, Lid not fully locked, Damaged or warped lid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not place your face or hands directly over escaping steam. Turn off and allow pressure to release before opening.
Steps:
- After depressurizing and cooling, remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Wash it and the lid groove with warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly.
- Clean the top rim of the inner pot where the seal contacts, removing any dried food or oil.
- Inspect the sealing ring for cracks, flattening, or hard spots. Replace if any damage is found or if it no longer fits snugly.
- Reinstall the ring evenly in the lid groove, ensuring it is not twisted.
- Perform a water-only pressure test. If steam still leaks around the lid, inspect the lid for warping or damage and consider replacing the lid assembly.
