Possible Causes

Open-circuit main heating element under the inner pot, Burnt wiring or connector to heating element, Failed heater relay on main PCB, Thermal fuse blown open

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and wait for all internal parts to cool. Heating circuits operate at mains voltage; take extreme care.

Steps to troubleshoot E7:

  • 1. Visual inspection under inner pot: Remove the inner pot and inspect the heating plate for burn marks, cracks, or deformation that might indicate a failed element.
  • 2. Access heating element connections: Remove the base cover. Locate the two heavy-gauge wires leading to the heating element ring under the pot. Check for loose spade connectors, burnt insulation, or broken terminals.
  • 3. Measure heating element resistance: Disconnect the element leads from the PCB or wiring block. Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the element. Typical values are between 20–60 Ω depending on wattage. An infinite reading indicates an open element that must be replaced.
  • 4. Check thermal fuse: Many Steba multicookers include a thermal fuse in series with the element. Test it for continuity. If open, replace it with the same temperature and current rating, ensuring proper insulation and mounting.
  • 5. Inspect heater relay on PCB: Look for signs of overheating or cracked solder joints around the heater relay. If the relay is visibly damaged or does not click when a program starts, the main PCB may need replacement.
  • 6. Replace faulty parts: Install a new main heating element and/or thermal fuse as required. Ensure all connections are tight and properly insulated.

Note: If you are not experienced with mains-voltage electrical work, have a qualified technician perform these checks and replacements.
