Steps to resolve generic 'Err':

• 1. Power cycle: Unplug the cooker for 10–15 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge. Plug back in and check if the error clears.
• 2. Check for stuck buttons: Press each button on the control panel several times. If any button feels stuck or does not click, gently clean around it with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid letting moisture enter the panel.
• 3. Factory reset (if supported): Consult the Steba manual for a reset procedure (often holding specific buttons while plugging in). Perform the reset to clear any corrupted settings.
• 4. Inspect ribbon cable: If comfortable opening the front panel, check the flat ribbon cable between the display/keypad board and the main PCB. Reseat both ends carefully.
• 5. Replace control panel PCB: If 'Err' persists and buttons or display behave erratically, replace the control panel / display PCB as a unit, transferring the keypad overlay if necessary.
