Possible Causes
Normal heater relay switching (soft clicking), Loose spade connector arcing, Failing relay with noisy contacts, Cracked solder joint on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before opening the base. Do not touch live parts.
Steps to diagnose unusual noises:
- 1. Distinguish normal from abnormal: Soft, periodic clicks can be normal relay operation. Loud pops, crackling, or continuous buzzing are not normal.
- 2. Inspect connections: With the base removed, check all high-current connections (heating element, mains input) for looseness or discoloration. Tighten or replace any loose connectors.
- 3. Examine relay area: Look for signs of heat or cracking around the heater relay on the PCB. If the relay buzzes or chatters, the PCB may need replacement.
- 4. Re-solder joints (advanced): If you see cracked solder joints on the PCB and are skilled with soldering, reflow them. Otherwise, replace the board.
Persistent abnormal noises indicate a potential electrical fault; discontinue use until repaired.
