Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged before accessing internal switches.
Steps to resolve start issues:
- 1. Confirm inner pot is installed: Many Steba models will not start without the inner pot. Ensure the correct Steba pot is seated flat on the heating plate.
- 2. Check lid position: Close and lock the lid according to the manual. Listen for a click from the lid lock. Try pressing down gently on the lid while pressing Start.
- 3. Verify program selection: Some models require selecting time and temperature before Start will work. Confirm that a valid program is chosen and that the display shows ready status.
- 4. Test lid lock switch: With the unit unplugged and top cover removed, manually actuate the lid lock switch and check continuity with a multimeter. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- 5. Inspect Start button: If the Start key feels unresponsive, the keypad or control PCB may be faulty. Replace the control panel PCB if individual buttons fail.
If all interlocks are working and the cooker still refuses to start, the main PCB logic may be defective and should be replaced or serviced.
