Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool fully. Do not add water to a hot dry pot.
Cleaning and contact checks:
- Remove the inner pot: Clean the outside bottom thoroughly. Remove any burnt-on starch or oil with a non-abrasive pad.
- Inspect the heating plate: Wipe the aluminum plate and central sensor area with a soft cloth. Remove any carbonized food or discoloration.
- Check for warping: Place the inner pot on a flat surface and see if it rocks. A warped pot can cause hot spots and trigger E2. Replace the pot if it is not flat.
- Ensure ventilation: Make sure the cooker is used on a hard, flat surface with several centimeters of clearance around the sides and back so the internal fan (if present) can cool the electronics.
Internal protection components (advanced):
- Remove the bottom cover and locate the thermal fuse and bimetal thermostat attached to or near the heating plate.
- Check continuity of the thermal fuse with a multimeter. If open, it must be replaced with the same rating.
- Inspect wiring for signs of overheating or melted insulation.
If E2 persists after cleaning and ensuring proper contact, the heating plate assembly or control board may be faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
