Possible Causes
Food residue around float, Bent float pin, Residual pressure due to blocked vent, Deformed silicone cap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never force the lid open. If steam is still escaping, allow more time to cool.
Releasing residual pressure:
- Ensure the steam release valve is in the 'Venting' position.
- Gently tap the lid near the float valve with a wooden spoon to dislodge dried food.
- Once the float drops, open the lid carefully away from your face.
After opening:
- Disassemble and clean the float valve thoroughly.
- Replace the silicone cap if swollen or hardened.
