Possible Causes
Open-circuit NTC sensor under the inner pot, Broken sensor wiring harness, Corroded connector on main PCB, Sensor dislodged from heater plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before any inspection.
- Check for obvious damage: Remove the inner bowl and inspect the central metal heating plate. Look for burn marks, deformation, or loose metal tabs that hold the sensor in place.
- Clean contact area: Wipe the heater plate and surrounding area with a soft dry cloth. Ensure no liquid or food residue is present that could have caused overheating.
- Reset attempt: Leave the unit unplugged for 10–15 minutes, then plug back in and try a simple program (e.g., reheat). If E1 appears immediately, the sensor circuit is likely faulty.
- Internal inspection (advanced): If you are experienced with appliance repair, remove the bottom cover (screws underneath) to access the NTC sensor and wiring. Check for broken wires or loose connectors between the sensor and the main control board. Reseat connectors firmly.
- If wiring is intact: The NTC sensor itself is likely open and must be replaced with a compatible Tefal bottom temperature sensor. If you are unsure, seek professional service.
