Possible Causes
Shorted NTC sensor under the inner pot, Melted sensor insulation from overheating, Moisture ingress into sensor connector, Shorted wiring harness to chassis
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and let it cool fully. Do not touch the heater plate if it is hot.
- Check for overheating signs: Remove the inner bowl and inspect the heater plate and surrounding plastic. Look for discoloration, melting, or burnt smell which indicates severe overheating.
- Dry the sensor area: If liquid has boiled over, gently dry the heater plate and center sensor area with a soft cloth. Allow at least 1 hour of air drying before retrying.
- Power reset: After cooling and drying, plug the unit back in and test a low-temperature program. If E2 appears immediately, the sensor or wiring is likely shorted.
- Internal check (advanced): Remove the bottom cover to inspect the NTC sensor wiring. Look for pinched or melted wires touching the metal chassis. Separate and insulate any damaged wires with high-temperature electrical tape as a temporary measure.
- Permanent repair: Replace the bottom NTC temperature sensor and any damaged wiring harness. If the heater plate is also damaged, replace the complete heater plate assembly.
