Possible Causes
Blocked steam release valve, Blocked safety valve or anti-block shield, Excessive food or foaming ingredients, Faulty pressure sensor calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool and fully depressurize. Never force the lid open under pressure.
- Check fill level: Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum fill line, especially with beans, rice, or foamy foods. Overfilling can cause overpressure and trigger E5.
- Clean valves: Remove and clean the steam release valve, float valve, and anti-block shield with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Inspect gasket: Check the main silicone sealing ring for deformation or food stuck around it. Clean and reseat it evenly in the lid groove.
- Test with water only: Add 500–800 ml of water, close the lid, and run a short pressure program. If E5 still appears, the pressure sensor or control board may be misreading pressure.
- Professional repair: Persistent E5 with clean valves and correct fill level indicates a faulty pressure sensor or control PCB. These parts should be replaced by an authorized technician.
