Possible Causes

Steam release valve set to vent instead of seal, Damaged or missing sealing ring, Lid not fully locked, Pressure sensor not detecting rise

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is cool enough to handle and not under pressure.

  • Check valve position: Verify that the steam release knob is in the 'seal' or pressure position as indicated in the manual.
  • Inspect sealing ring: Remove, clean, and reseat the silicone ring. Replace if it is loose or deformed.
  • Check lid lock: Close the lid firmly until it locks. Some Tefal models will not pressurize if the lid sensor is not engaged.
  • Test with water: Add 500–800 ml of water and run a short pressure program. If P0 persists and no steam escapes from the lid, the pressure sensor or control may be faulty.
  • Service: If mechanical sealing is correct, a technician should test and possibly replace the pressure sensor module.
