Possible Causes

Steam leak from sealing ring, Steam release valve not fully closed, Cracked lid or lid plate, Faulty float valve seal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Allow the cooker to depressurize naturally or via the valve before opening.

  • Observe for leaks: During a test run with water, watch for continuous steam escaping around the lid or valve.
  • Replace sealing ring: If steam leaks around the lid circumference, install a new genuine Tefal sealing ring.
  • Check float valve: Remove and clean the float valve and its silicone cap. Replace the cap if hardened or cracked.
  • Inspect lid plate: Look for cracks or warping in the inner lid plate. Replace the lid assembly if damaged.
  • Re-test: Run another pressure cycle with water only. If P1 still appears, the pressure sensor or control board may be misinterpreting pressure changes.
