Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation causing internal overheating, Fan failure inside base, Excessive load or thick mixture causing prolonged high current draw, Faulty overtemperature sensor or thermal fuse near heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the Thermomix. Allow it to cool for at least 30–45 minutes.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure the unit is on a hard, flat surface with at least 10 cm clearance around sides and rear. Do not operate it under low cabinets where heat accumulates.
- Reduce load: Avoid overfilling the bowl or using very high temperatures with thick mixtures for extended periods. Follow the maximum fill and speed guidelines in the manual.
- Check for fan noise: During operation, listen for the internal cooling fan. If you do not hear it or it sounds rough, the fan may be failing.
- Advanced inspection: With the unit unplugged and bottom cover removed, inspect the cooling fan for obstruction (dust, food particles) and spin it gently by hand. Clean with compressed air and ensure the fan connector is firmly seated.
- Service requirement: If the fan does not run when powered or the error recurs quickly, the fan or thermal protection circuit must be replaced by a technician.
